Safety & Privacy

How does She & HER verify users?

Before gaining access, all applicants complete a one-time application and verification process to confirm they’re a real human and align with our community standards.This includes a government-issued ID and a facial match to prevent bots, fake profiles, and impersonation before anyone enters the platform. Verification happens once, is encrypted, and is never visible to other users.

We recognize that identity documentation and appearance don’t always align for everyone. For non-cis women and trans feminine applicants, She & HER follows an inclusive verification pathway that prioritizes dignity, safety, and respect while maintaining platform integrity.

Why does She & HER require an application to join?

She & HER requires an application because trust and safety are foundational — not optional. By reviewing applications and verifying identity before access is granted, we reduce fake profiles, harassment, and harmful behavior, creating a space where people can show up more honestly and feel safer from the start. Requiring an application isn’t about exclusivity — it’s about care, accountability, and building something better for women who like women.

What data does She & HER collect?

She & HER collects a small amount of information to keep the platform safe and intentional. This includes basic details like name, age range, ZIP code, gender identity, and a government-issued ID used for identity verification.

As part of the application process, a one-time facial match is used to confirm that the person applying is the same individual associated with the ID. Sensitive data is encrypted, never visible to other users, never sold, and never shared with third parties.

Any additional questions are designed to help us understand who you are — not to track, rank, or exploit you.

Can I control who sees my profile?

Yes. You control when and how your profile is visible.

She & HER is designed so visibility is intentional — not automatic. You can choose when your profile is shown to others and limit exposure based on how you want to engage with the platform. Your presence is never forced, and you’re not required to be constantly discoverable. As the platform evolves, we’re continuing to add visibility and authenticity safeguards that prioritize privacy, consent, and user comfort.

What should I do if someone makes me feel unsafe?

Your safety comes first. You can block or report any user instantly from their profile or chat. Reports are reviewed by our Trust & Safety team, and appropriate action is taken to protect the community.We take all reports seriously and design our systems to support accountability, care, and user agency.

Using the App

How does the matchmaking algorithm work?

She & HER’s matching approach begins with understanding the human. We use information shared during the onboarding experience — such as preferences, values, proximity, and interaction signals — to surface connections that feel aligned rather than random.As the platform evolves, our matching systems are designed to learn from user choices and feedback to refine recommendations over time — responsibly, transparently, and without ranking people by desirability.

What are communities on She & HER?

On She & HER, Communities refer to future, community-driven ways of connecting that go beyond one-to-one matching.As the platform grows, connection will expand to include shared spaces designed around interests, goals, and lived experiences — allowing members to engage in ways that feel more collective, supportive, and aligned with who they are and where they’re headed.

This is not a launch feature. When introduced, Communities will be shaped by how early members engage and the types of connection(s) they’re seeking over time. Our priority is to build thoughtfully, not prematurely, so community features emerge in ways that genuinely serve the people using them.

How does the events feature work on She & HER?

She & HER plans to support curated in-person and virtual events in the future, led by trusted hosts and community tastemakers.These events are intended to create safer, more intentional ways for people to connect beyond the app — and will be introduced thoughtfully once our core platform and community standards are firmly established.

What kinds of connection is She & HER designed for?

She & HER is designed to support connection beyond a single definition. At this stage, the platform focuses on understanding how people want to connect rather than forcing rigid categories. During the early experience, users are invited to share their intent and what they’re seeking. These signals help us learn from the community and guide how future connection pathways — including non-romantic ones — are thoughtfully introduced over time.

Is She & HER availiable on iOS and Android?

She & HER will be available on both iOS and Android.

Our beta release is an early access phase and may be limited to specific cities or groups as we test core functionality, gather feedback, and ensure safety and performance. The General Availability (GA) release will expand access more broadly and introduce additional features as the platform continues to mature.

How does She & HER ensure inclusivity?

She & HER is built by women of color and allies, with a deep understanding of the intersectional realities of womanhood.We design intentionally for inclusivity and actively moderate the platform to address bias, hate speech, and discriminatory behavior. Our goal is to create a space where people feel seen, respected, and safe — while protecting authenticity and community trust.

Can men join She & HER?

No. She & HER is intentionally women-centered. The platform is designed specifically for women and those who identify with womanhood. While men cannot join the app, we do collaborate with male ally organizations through initiatives and events that support women’s empowerment and community-building outside the platform

How does She & HER support LGBTQ+ users?

She & HER is built to support the full spectrum of LGBTQ+ identities within a women-centered space.We offer inclusive identity options, pronoun visibility, and thoughtful design choices that respect how people identify and want to be seen. Our priority is to ensure every user feels safe, affirmed, and supported while engaging on the platform.

Yes. The core She & HER experience is free to use.In the future, optional premium tiers will be introduced to support expanded functionality and experiences.
